The Khan Academy is another amazing initiative for self educating. The site is the brain child of Sal Khan, a graduate of MIT and Harvard. He also gives most of the talks on the site. These talks are organized mostly as ten minute videos on a given topic, mostly science and math related. I personally have found them to be excellent clear reviews of math and statistics, things I have needed for my research work.

The autodidactic life
I'm a huge fan of the internet. It's true I waste a lot of time on 'shtut' but mostly the internet is my mind's playground. I love learning and am constantly amazed at the seemingly endless resources available for the curious of mind, the self-taught, the autodidact.
I want to share this link with you as one example https://www.coursera.org/
Coursera is nothing short of incredible. With a growing selection of top-notch college level courses given by leading professors in their fields, it is a rich mine of knowledge. Check it out, sign up for a course, it's free.
I hope to share more of this kind of thing in the future.

Welcome to "The World in my Screen". This is a trial blog for learning and sharing what I learn on my computer. The impetus for starting this is thanks to Avraham Roos, an inspired and inspiring colleague of mine at Michlelet Herzog. I am taking his online course in education technology as are you if you are reading this.
Good luck to us all, enjoy!
